Thank you for your participation in the last challenge "Focal Point".
We had a respectful 115 entries and your beautiful work really light up the gallery in this blog.
I want to share some thoughts about "doing challenges"...
Why participating in a challenge blog and put your work out there?
I can easily think of a few purposes.
1. challenge yourself and create something out of your norm
2. enjoy the camaraderie of being in the same challenge
3. admire your fellow card-makers gorgeous work
4. have FUN (and perhaps win a prize!)
If you are nodding yes to all of the above, I then hope to see that you continue and support this challenge blog.
Enough of my public broadcasting....

I am delighted to introduce you our guest design for the "Focal Point" Challenge. One of the many joys in running this challenge blog is getting to know the new (to me) talent out there. Today's guest designer is one of those....Kymona has been the regular in entering the challenge here. Her work is always polished and well-executed. I always treat her artistic projects as "Eye Candy". Her beautifully-stylized photography is something that I admire as well. Kymona happens to be our last month's change winner and it is high time we put her work in focus...

This stamp Butterfly Trio is versatile and can be use all year round. Even though butterflies are gone for the season now, butterfly-themed cards are great for all occasions and seasons.
I love the embossing that give so much details to the image.
~add a piece of dry embossed panel to ground the image
Hope you get inky and please link up your creation to this challenge. Thank you for stopping by! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Happy World Card-making Day!
What could be more perfect than starting the challenge on this very special day?
Focal Point: the point at which rays or waves meet after reflection or refraction, or the point from which diverging rays or waves appear to proceed. The center of interest or activity.
As card makers, we all know how to place the important elements on our cards. This challenge will help us examine the main element of your design-- the focal point.
You can apply a few techniques with this challenge: Spotlighting, Color Layering and Add a Splash of Color...etc. The photos from our challenge theme also provide you some inspiration. Please feel free to use it as your jumping point.
Here's my take on this challenge. I created a cluster of flower bouquet and also used a few large drop of splatter to draw our eyes to the "Focal Point".
With the layering stamps, the focal point may appear simple but it is certainly not boring.
Please let your focal point be the STAR of your designs.
You can add dimensions, textures or a splash of colors....sky is the limit.
I also have a video to illustrate the focal point. Hope this will give you some ideas.
This monthly card-making challenge blog will run till the 18th (11:55pm Eastern Time) and there will be a SPOTLIGHT feature of Top 10 Favorites on the 25th. Any style and all levels are most welcome! You can read more about the challenge guidelines at the bottom of the page.
Among the Top 10 Fav, there will be a random draw for a lucky (and talented) winner who will then receive the top prize. In order to qualify for the top prize, your project has to be NEW (not linked back to a previously made project). You are welcome to combine other challenges, but please limit your total number of challenges to no more than 4.
Our Top Winner (randomly selected from Top 10 Favorites) will receive a $15 gift card! AWESOME, eh?!
